Ben Silvis

Hi! My name is Ben Silvis. I graduated in ’09 from the University of Central Florida with a BA in Digital Media. I currently reside in Orlando, FL working for UCF as a Tech Artist/Research Tech at the Media Convergence Lab where I’ve been for almost 3 years now. I’ve had the opportunity to work with all kinds of stuff including Mixed Reality, AR, and several in-house 3D engines built on Ogre, Flash, and XNA Game Studio. The nature of the work has found me collaborating closely with schools, military facilities, science museums, and the web on multiple permanent installations and IRB certified research projects.

In my spare time I like making my own games, being involved in my community, cooking, and teaching when I can. I really enjoy outdoorsy things and you can often find me out hiking, camping, biking, kayaking, and basically anything else that involves drinking out of a lake. I also really like music – finding new artists and new old ones – going to concerts and playing the handful of instruments I can carry a tune on.
